The Boy Smells brand is equal parts clever and introspective, poking fun at assigning scent or color to gender. Inspired by layering masculine and feminine scents together, this brand reminds us that identity is complex and layered. Their branding (pink, with the label "Boy Smells") gives permission for everyone to enjoy whatever scents they like - from masculine to feminine, and in between.
In 2001, CLAE was launched out of the need for a new approach to footwear, which was to modernize the classic silhouettes to fit today’s active lifestyle. CLAE’s commitment to innovation and design has yielded a distinct collection of smart essentials for the modern man. Taking extra steps by using premium leathers and materials, and emphasizing uncommon comfort and versatility, CLAE creates footwear that evolves and endures.
Inspired by the vanishing sub-genre of agricultural memo books, ornate pocket ledgers, and the simple, unassuming beauty of a well-crafted grocery list, the Draplin Design Company of Portland and Coudal Partners, a Chicago creative firm, created Field Notes Brand. Every Field Notes paper product has been manufactured in the U.S.A. From the paper, sourced from some of the finest mills in the Midwest, to even the inks used, the production of Field Notes has never required travel on a cargo ship or plane; just the roads crisscrossing the country. Their collection boasts smartly-designed, vintage-styled pocket notebooks, calendars, and various other office accoutrements.
Groceries exists to create a demand for fashion using only localized manufacturing and recycled/organic textiles. Their garments are manufactured in their own California factory, their fabrics are all traced to the farm- following the human being across the supply chain to make sure that everyone is treated fairly. Groceries' operations improve the lives of their entire supply chain, their customers and the environment.
Created by shoe industry veteran Ty McBride, as his first solo branded project, “Intentionally _______.”sets out with clear intentions: “To create the pieces that help you fill “____________s” in your personal style mantra.” Designed and manufactured in both Spain and China (plus a few styles from Italy this year!), the team from “Intentionally _______.” seeks to create hyper wearable footwear, which fit into a myriad of personal style spectrums, while delivering value and commanding just enough attention. With nods to the minimal, and touches of visual irony, the brand has garnered a cult following after several short years in the market.
What originally began as solely a menswear brand, Native Youth launched their immediately successful womenswear line in the Summer of 2015, which has gone from strength to strength. Their womenswear collection mirrors the same aesthetic as the men’s range, but with an added focus on key silhouettes and co-ords.
