Shopkeep: Rebecca McKinney, Whistle Club, Santa Barbara

March 22, 2017 BY NEWS

After working with such heavy hitters as Nordstrom, Gilt Groupe, Target, and more, Rebecca McKinney stepped away from the corporate world and into her own boutique. Located on the beautiful Coast Village Road in Santa Barbara, Whistle Club mixes two of her favorite things: clothing and coffee. “As we're a few blocks from the beach and have gorgeous mountain views, our location is pretty idyllic,” said Rebecca.

Her hybrid shop features both emerging and established lines, and plays host to numerous in-store events, DIY workshops, and coffee classes. With a self-described “east-meets-west coast” sensibility, it’s no surprise that the shop is stocked with such coveted lines as Rachel Comey, No.6, Horses Atelier, Lizzie Fortunato, Tibi, and Closed.

“Coast Village Road is lined with charming storefronts and restaurants, so the neighborhood adds value to the total Whistle Club experience,” said Rebecca. And to top it all off, Whistle Club’s in-store espresso bar serves up drinks from Stumptown Coffee Roasters. We couldn’t think of a better combination.
