Let Los Vladimirovich Educate You

October 15, 2014 BY STEVE DOOL

Did you know that "camouflage" comes from the French for camoufler, meaning "to conceal"? Well, we didn't, until Los Vladimirovich filled us in. The Autumn/Winter 2014 collection from the multinational and multilingual menswear collective - full name: Los Vladimirovich Владимирович Marath & Yurik Menswear Collective (LVM&Y.MC) - examines camo in its different iterations, for a range of outerwear, pants and tops that are noticeable, but adaptable. The collection is titled "Ur Heroes are Ghosts," or in the Spanish translation they provide: "Tus héroes son fantasmas." Depressing, until LVM goes on to explain that the absence of your idols just means there is now more room for new leaders.

I guess you learn something new every day, after all.

See excerpts from the lookbook for Los Vladimirovich AW14 below, featuring model Gryphon O'Shea, who you may recognize from his very busy SS15 runway season, walking for everyone from Lanvin and Raf Simons, to Patrik Ervell and Mark McNairy.
